In the Department of Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine, Division of Internal Medicine, University Hospital Centre Zagreb, ultrasound device was available for ICU physicians since year 1986, so young doctors matured as intenisvists with ultrasound probe in hands. Anesthesiologists in Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka were also pioneers in point of care ultrasound. On year 2007 Alan Šustić contributed actively to legendary supplement of the journal Critical Care Medicine, dedicated to the point of care ultrasound. On year 2008 WINFOCUS USLS-BL1 courses started in Croatia, directed by Radovan Radonić, held regularly twice per year, accepted excellently by participants. Radovan Radonić was WINFOCUS Board of Directors member for 2 mandates, now is a member of WINFOCUS Standardisation Committee.
